Working As a Translator For the Aviation Industry

This text was fully written by a human.

  • I’ve embarked on a new chapter as a translator in the aviation industry, where I’m learning the intricacies of airplane construction through confidential documents, gaining a newfound respect for the engineers behind these marvels.
  • In addition to translation, I’m working as a freelance writer, creating scientific articles for talented teens. This project has been a valuable learning experience, leading me to reflect on past educational experiments and how they connect to my personal growth.
  • As I look back on my journey, I recognize how I’ve evolved through different phases, like a relay race where each version of myself builds on the previous one. I’m embracing this period of change and excited for the new possibilities it brings.

How Did I Become a Translator in the Aviation Industry?

Finally, a new chapter in my life has started, offering a chance to earn some money and boost my CV. I’ve begun translating documents for the aviation industry. Although these documents are confidential and I can’t share their content, I now see why they’re so carefully protected.

Have you ever wondered how an airplane is built? I have, and I’m still amazed that engineers assemble such a complex machine from these detailed texts. I’ve even found answers to questions that have puzzled me since childhood.

For example, I’ve finally understood what information truly is. It’s simply anything that can be organized and placed in the right container. According to Shannon (1948), information is formally the reduction of uncertainty, measured in bits.

I’ve also encountered many other enlightening concepts.

The procedural rhetoric, with phrases like “a document, it is a record, constituting a document that…” has truly fascinated me. From now on, whenever I see an airplane flying overhead, I’ll have even more respect for the brilliant engineers who navigated these complexities. They’re true geniuses.

Well… they pay, so I type away on the computer.

How Did I Also Become a Freelance Writer?

On a different note, this writing project should bring in some extra income too. A friend has encouraged me to write a series of scientific articles for talented teens. I decided to give it a try, thinking it would be a valuable learning experience.

Along the way, I’ve had many eye-opening moments. The convention is to include suggestions for indoor activities in the text. According to Freeman and colleagues (2014), hands-on active learning measurably improves science exam scores.

I started with a classic—the famous lemon experiment, involving creating a circuit using a lemon, two wires, and my own tongue. According to Goodisman (2001), this demonstration works because two dissimilar electrodes in an acidic electrolyte form a simple galvanic cell. Oxidation-reduction reactions generate the small current.

How Much Have I Changed Since My First Year?

Changing gears, I found myself reading through my memories from the first and second years of my studies at night, adding details that later proved essential. It struck me that I’ve transformed into a completely different person since then.

Periodically, I become a new version of myself—almost like a relay race. According to Quoidbach, Gilbert, and Wilson (2013), people at every age recognize how much they have changed in the past. Yet they underestimate how much they will keep changing in the future.

I genuinely appreciate the past versions of me who laid the groundwork and did a great job.

It’s a shared journey toward a common goal, with someone else eagerly waiting to take the baton from a promising spot. Change is on the horizon, and I’m committed to giving it my all. Change often arrives with spring, so until then, I’m embracing this new phase.
